Lucy
My name is Lucy
I am the leader of the herd and the biggest!!
I am a thoroughbred mare and like people to know how well-bred I am.
I have had 1 foal in my younger days and enjoy looking after the younger herd members but only if they are doing as they are told!! – I am not very tolerant to people telling me what to do
I am very experienced with natural horsemanship having spent many years living at the Parelli headquarters for the UK. I work very well at liberty and enjoy riding bareback and bridle less – (I am the only one in the herd who can do this well – but don’t tell Casper)
Foxy is very attached to me which is fine by me as she always does as I tell her. I don’t mind going away from her but she has a tantrum if she can’t see me.
I am semi-retired and not used very much in the therapy centre but am always on hand if needed to help my mum out.

Foxy
My name is Foxy
I came to meet my mum as a rescue having been ill treated by humans, I was very thin and abused.
The day my mum came to look at me my small world changed. I have always trusted her and I look at her as the one who put me on the straight and narrow.
I suffer with huge anxiety issues and panic if I am unsure.
Lucy is my favourite horse although I enjoy looking after Bertie. I once had a foal but it was very big and hurt my pelvis so much, I now suffer with a tilted pelvis which makes me walk funny on my back legs.
I have worked with highly active children and enjoy using my calming techniques to help them to relax.
I have followed a natural horsemanship programme like Lucy but have not been ridden very much partly due to my painful hips. I am a very quick learner so like new things to do. I am very fast and like to jump things even though I am very old now.
I like being brushed and having my mane plaited.
I am used in the therapy centre as I enjoy this work

Casper
My name is Casper
I am an American Quarter Horse
I am a western horse and like to think I am a bit of a cowboy.
As I am only young, I am still learning how mum wants me to behave, we go away lots together which is great fun camping at different places. I like to meet people and like people to look at how stunning and handsome I am. Mum calls me her “Golden Boy” I think that’s because of my stunning mane.
I like to be brushed and bathed and sometimes if I am lucky different people come and brush me.
I suffer with my nerves a little and I am not very brave. I get easily distracted from things and mum is helping me to be better focused and relaxed in my work. I suffer with anxiety and need my world to be calm and kept to a routine.

Blue
My name is Blue
I am a cob.
I am one of the main horses used for therapy as my temperament is amazing and I am very calm and predictable.
I like to go out for rides with my mum, and I’m very good and looking after the nervous or younger horses in the herd.
I enjoy being groomed, so being white I am often being showered before I start my work. I love to have my mane brushed and plaited and because it is so long you will often see me with a plait so I can see better.
I am not allowed lots of grass to eat as my belly gets very large and mum struggles to keep me trim, that said I enjoy carrots so please bring plenty!!!
I enjoy keeping people safe and hope that people feel safe around me. I may be big but I am not scary, I enjoy cuddles and kisses
I am the least experienced horse in natural horsemanship but I am enjoying learning new things

Pegasus
Pegasus is a Fell Pony.
Pegasus is the most introverted horse I have ever met, he has had many challenges in his life. Peg suffers with high levels of anxiety and finds people hard to trust.
He is highly trained as a therapy horse and has spent many years on loan to The Horse Course in Dorset. He enjoys working at liberty and can turn his hooves to many a fancy manoeuvre!
Peg needs people to be calm when working with him and because of this he is fantastic at teaching people about “body language and energy”.
He is everyones favourite horse to be with and always makes people feel more confident after a session with him.
